Layered3D recently collaborated on an exciting project using multicolor FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling) printing to create a scale model of a proposed F1 track on the Gold Coast. The design phase, completed by a dedicated student with Layered3D’s guidance, showcased the model’s intricate detail and vibrant color. Once finalized, our team took on the printing and assembly, bringing the model to life.
FDM printing proved to be an ideal choice for this project, balancing cost-effectiveness and functionality. By using multicolor FDM technology, we achieved a detailed and visually engaging prototype without the high costs associated with traditional manufacturing. This approach not only enhances the design process with full-color visualization but also allows for the creation of functional, durable models suited for demonstration or testing.
Projects like these highlight how multicolor FDM printing can streamline prototyping, enabling our clients to move from concept to physical model in a fast, cost-effective way. At Layered3D, we're proud to support designers and innovators in turning ideas into tangible, impactful models.
